Chunmei Lou has been living in New Zealand for ten years and originally comes from China. Chinese is her main language, and she had learned a little English before coming to New Zealand. Chunmei chose to study at DynaSpeak because the class timetable suited her. One thing Chunmei appreciates about DynaSpeak is the online homework, which she found different from her previous learning experiences. Through her studies, she has also had the opportunity to make new friends and practise her English. Looking ahead, Chunmei hopes to find a new job where she can use her English skills. She also has warm words for her teachers, sharing, “The teachers are very good, I like studying here.” Everyone has their own reasons for learning English. For Chunmei, improving her English, making new friends and working towards new opportunities are all part of her learning journey.
